Manchester City Player Ratings vs Liverpool: Haaland Shines as Semenyo Impresses in FA Cup Rout

Haaland Leads Manchester City’s 4-0 Demolition of Liverpool

Manchester City delivered a statement performance with a dominant 4-0 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final, and unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland stole the spotlight.

The Norwegian striker was in ruthless form, netting a superb hat-trick to power Pep Guardiola’s side into yet another FA Cup semi-final. Antoine Semenyo also played a crucial role, scoring and assisting in what was a near-perfect attacking display.

According to GOAL’s ratings, City’s players produced one of their most complete performances of the season, while Liverpool struggled badly on both ends of the pitch.

    Manchester City Player Ratings

    Standout Performer

    • Erling Haaland – 9/10
A clinical and commanding display. After calmly converting a penalty, Haaland went on to score two more goals, showcasing his strength, positioning, and finishing ability. A true striker’s masterclass.

    Key Performers

    • Antoine Semenyo – 8/10
The Ghanaian forward continues to shine. He provided a brilliant assist and scored with confidence, highlighting his growing influence in City’s attack.
    • Rayan Cherki – 8/10
Creative and dangerous throughout, Cherki pulled the strings in midfield and linked up beautifully with Semenyo.
    • James Trafford – 8/10
Made key saves when needed, including a penalty stop against Mohamed Salah, ensuring a clean sheet.

    Solid Contributions

    • Nico O’Reilly – 7/10
Won the penalty and assisted Haaland’s third goal—an impactful performance.
    • Bernardo Silva – 7/10
Controlled the tempo with intelligent passing and movement.

    Average Performers

    • Rodri – 6/10
Not at his best but still contributed defensively.
    • Matheus Nunes – 6/10
Mixed performance, involved in build-up but conceded a penalty.
    • Jeremy Doku – 6/10
      Energetic but lacked end product.

    Match Summary

Manchester City’s dominance was clear from start to finish. After an intense opening phase, the breakthrough came when Haaland converted a penalty. From there, City never looked back.

A well-worked team move led to Haaland’s second goal before halftime, while Semenyo effectively sealed the game early in the second half with a composed finish. Haaland then completed his hat-trick to cap off a sensational night.

Liverpool, on the other hand, endured a frustrating evening. Mohamed Salah missed a penalty, and defensive errors proved costly as the Reds failed to cope with City’s attacking intensity.

    What This Means

This victory sends Manchester City into the FA Cup semi-finals with strong momentum. The attacking trio of Haaland, Semenyo, and Cherki looks increasingly dangerous, and their chemistry could be key in the title run-in.

For Liverpool, however, the defeat raises serious concerns. Defensive lapses and missed opportunities highlight areas that need urgent improvement.

    Final Thoughts

Manchester City delivered a complete performance, combining clinical finishing with creative brilliance. With Erling Haaland in this kind of form and Antoine Semenyo continuing to rise, Pep Guardiola’s side looks unstoppable.

If this performance is anything to go by, City are not just aiming for silverware—they are sending a strong message to every competitor.
