Ghanaians in Libya Cry Out Over Harsh Living Conditions, Share Photos of Cramped Rooms While Chasing Greener Pastures

Several Ghanaians who travelled to Libya in search of better opportunities have opened up about the harsh and uncomfortable conditions they are currently enduring.

In a viral video and images circulating online, the migrants revealed the poor state of the rooms they live in — overcrowded spaces with little ventilation, limited facilities, and unhealthy surroundings.

According to them, life in Libya is far from the “greener pastures” many imagine. Instead, they are forced to struggle daily for survival, often sharing small rooms with multiple people just to cut costs.

Some of the individuals expressed deep regret over their decision, explaining that they took the dangerous journey with hopes of eventually crossing to Europe but are now trapped in difficult conditions.

Their situation reflects a broader trend, as many African migrants in Libya face hardship, exploitation, and unsafe living environments. Reports indicate that some migrants even choose to return home after experiencing the reality on the ground.

The emotional testimonies serve as a warning to others planning similar journeys, highlighting the risks involved in irregular migration and the often-hidden struggles behind the pursuit of a better life abroad.
