Confirm: GES Opens 2026 Teacher Recruitment Portal for Qualified Graduates

The Ghana Education Service has officially announced a nationwide recruitment exercise for qualified graduates who are passionate about teaching. The announcement, dated 10th April 2026, invites individuals with education-related qualifications to apply for teaching positions across the country.

This opportunity is part of efforts to strengthen the education sector and improve learning outcomes in schools, especially in underserved communities.

    Overview of the Recruitment

According to the official statement, the Ghana Education Service is seeking dedicated graduates who hold a Bachelor of Education degree or any relevant qualification in education. The recruitment is open to individuals who are ready to contribute to national development through teaching.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to modern teaching practices.

    Job Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be required to perform several key duties aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in schools.

They will facilitate learning using modern technology and innovative teaching approaches suitable for the 21st century classroom. Teachers are also expected to support learners with diverse educational needs and ensure that all students achieve their full academic potential.

In addition, applicants must continuously improve their ability to conduct research and integrate new technologies into teaching. They will also use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate learner performance effectively.

Teachers must adhere strictly to the National Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct to maintain professionalism and ethical behaviour at all times. Participation in continuous professional development programmes will also be required to stay updated with current trends in education.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this recruitment, applicants must meet the following requirements.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Education, or Diploma in Basic Education.

Applicants must have completed their National Service and must be in good standing with the National Teaching Council. A valid teaching license is mandatory.

In addition, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and effective classroom management abilities. They must also be willing to accept postings to deprived or underserved districts when necessary.

    How to Apply

Interested applicants are required to follow a simple online application process.

Candidates should visit the official Ghana Education Service recruitment portal and complete the application form. After filling out the form, applicants must upload all required documents.

These documents include degree or diploma certificates, National Service certificate, NTC license, Ghana Card, passport-sized photograph, and active contact details including email and phone number.

Applicants are advised to ensure that all documents are clear and correctly uploaded, as submissions may be made in picture or PDF format.

    Application Deadline

The application process is strictly limited to a short period.

Applications open on 10th April 2026 and close on 17th April 2026. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute technical challenges.

    Final Thoughts

This recruitment presents a valuable opportunity for trained teachers and education graduates to secure employment and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s education system.

With a strong emphasis on professionalism, innovation, and inclusivity, the Ghana Education Service continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of education in the country.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and begin their journey toward a rewarding teaching career.
