The Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) transformed into a hub of glitz, glamour, and musical excellence on Saturday night as the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) took center stage.
Ghanaians at home and in the diaspora tuned in with bated breath to see which of their favourite artistes would walk away with the industry’s most prestigious honorus.
The 27th edition of the awards lived up to its reputation, delivering a night filled with electrifying performances and historic wins.
The awards ceremony kicked off with some of the most competitive categories in the genre-specific segments. Rapper Medikal secured a major win early in the night, taking home the Hiplife Song of the Year for his massive hit, “Shoulder.”
In the Highlife category, the “Effiakuma Love” hitmaker Kofi Kinaata continued his dominant streak. His spiritually uplifting and melodic track, “It is finished,” was adjudged the Highlife Song of the Year, further solidifying his legacy as a master of the genre.
