Black Sherif dominates TGMA 2026, crowned Artiste of the Year. Black Sherif has cemented his status as Ghana’s foremost musical force, walking away with the coveted Artiste of the Year award at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The Iron Boy hitmaker did not just win the night’s biggest prize, he owned it. In one of the most dominant individual performances in TGMA history, Black Sherif also claimed Album of the Year for Iron Boy, Songwriter of the Year, Afropop Song of the Year for Sacrifice, and Hip-Hop Song of the Year for Where Dem Boys — making him the undisputed star of the evening.

The win marks Black Sherif’s second Artiste of the Year title, having previously claimed the award in 2023, firmly placing him among the all-time greats of the Ghana Music Awaards.
The night also saw strong showings from Medikal, who won Hiplife Song of the Year for Shoulder, Best Collaboration, and Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year, while Kofi Kinaata claimed Highlife Song of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year.
Stonebwoy retained the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year crown, and Diana Hamilton was named Gospel Artiste of the Year.
