Dr. Bawumia Appoints All Four Former Rivals In NPP Presidential Primaries As Co-Chairs Of Party’s Policy Committee.
As of May 8, 2026, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially appointed all four of his former rivals from the January 2026 presidential primaries to lead key sector-specific policy committees.
This strategic move is intended to unify the party and shift its focus toward data-driven governance ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The overarching NPP Policy Committee is chaired by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, with Dr. Kwasi Nyame Baafi serving as Secretary.
