Raymond Archer, the acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has been accused of presiding over what they claim are politically-motivated investigations and actions under the current administration by journalists affiliated with Movement TV and Wontumi Radio
Speaking during a televised media discussion, Gordon Asare-Bediako, a journalist and political commentator, criticized EOCO’s approach in comparison to other law enforcement bodies, particularly the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

“Officers at the CID office are professional through their engagements, but as soon as you are told to go to EOCO, then they mess you up,” he said, accusing EOCO under Archer’s leadership of conducting vindictive operations.
Asare-Bediako warned Archer that his current role and actions could have serious personal and political repercussions in the future.

“If Raymond Archer reasons deeply, he should know whatever he is doing today, somebody would come later and pay him back,” he said.
The journalist advised Archer to prepare himself not just legally, but spiritually, implying that a potential return to power by the NPP could result in intense scrutiny or retaliation.

“He should make sure he has a very good relationship with God because if NPP returns to power, one of his bail conditions would be Jesus Christ,” Asare-Bediako said.
He went on to suggest that Archer should consider taking preemptive action in the event of a political power shift:
“On the day he hears there is a change of government, he should voluntarily sleep in the EOCO cells and lock it,” he remarked, drawing laughter and applause from some on the panel.
