Ato Forson Surges to Lead NDC Presidential Race – Global InfoAnalytics Poll Shows Major Shift

A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed a significant shift within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Cassiel Ato Forson emerging as the leading contender in the party’s future presidential race.

The findings signal changing dynamics within the NDC as it prepares for leadership beyond the current political cycle.

1. Poll Results Overview

According to the survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics:

  • Cassiel Ato Forson leads with 32% support
  • Johnson Asiedu Nketia follows with 25%
  • Haruna Iddrisu secures 23%
  • Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang records 14%
  • Other candidates account for 5%

These results highlight a strong surge by Ato Forson, placing him ahead of key figures within the party.

2. A Major Shift in Party Dynamics

The poll indicates a notable shift in internal party preferences, with Ato Forson gaining momentum over established figures.

Political analysts suggest this change reflects:

  • Growing confidence in his leadership
  • His role in economic management
  • Increasing support among party delegates

This marks a turning point in what is expected to be a competitive race for the NDC’s future leadership.

3. Tightening Competition

Despite Ato Forson’s lead, the race remains highly competitive.

Other recent tracking polls show:

  • Johnson Asiedu Nketia still leading in some scenarios
  • A narrowing gap between top contenders
  • A significant number of undecided voters influencing the race

In some surveys, up to 24% of respondents remain undecided, indicating that the contest is still open.

4. Key Issues Influencing the Race

The poll also highlights the main concerns shaping voter preferences within the NDC:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Economic performance
  • Leadership vision and competence

Notably, about 78% of grassroots members expressed concern over job opportunities, showing that economic issues will play a crucial role in determining the party’s next leader.

5. What This Means for the NDC

The emergence of Ato Forson as a frontrunner suggests:

  • A possible generational and strategic shift within the party
  • Increasing competition among top political figures
  • Early positioning ahead of the 2028 general elections

The results serve as an early indicator of how the NDC may shape its future leadership direction.

6. About Global InfoAnalytics

Global InfoAnalytics is a Ghana-based research and polling organization known for conducting:

  • Political surveys
  • Public opinion research
  • Data-driven policy analysis

Its polls often provide insights into voter behavior and political trends across the country.

Final Thoughts

While the race is still in its early stages, Ato Forson’s lead signals a major shift within the NDC. However, with strong contenders and many undecided voters, the contest remains wide open.

The coming months will be critical in determining who ultimately leads the party into the next general election.
